Dr. Charlotte Modly is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She brings over two decades of dermatology experience and is known for her collaborative, patient-centered approach to care. Dr. Modly provides comprehensive skin care to patients of all ages. Her formal education and training include:
- Bryn Mawr College (Bryn Mawr, PA) – BA in Biology (summa cum laude)
- Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (Cleveland, OH) – Doctor of Medicine
- University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA) – Internship in Internal Medicine
- University of Maryland (College Park, MD) – Dermatology Residency, Chief Resident
During her training, Dr. Modly received several honors and awards, including the Stuart Blaine Fisher Award in Dermatology and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (ΑΩΑ) Medical Honor Society.
Following residency, Dr. Modly spent three years as an academic dermatologist in the Louisiana State University Department of Dermatology in New Orleans, where her special interests included autoimmune diseases of the skin, such as lupus. She has taught medical students and residents at the University of Maryland, and as an assistant professor, she was awarded the department’s Outstanding Teacher Award in 2007.
Dr. Modly is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) as well as a member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) and the Maryland Dermatologic Society (MDS).
In her spare time, Dr. Modly enjoys travel, sewing, painting, Pilates, and visiting her three grown children.
